    10,000 Constant Readers voted @Lilja’s Library to nominate their favourite Stephen King book. So far we only know the books that landed the places between 16 and 66. There will be a countdown to reveal the last places.

    Five Dark Tower books didn’t make it to the to 15:

    18. The Dark Tower 7: The Dark Tower (171 votes)
    20. The Dark Tower 2: The Drawing of the Three (135 votes)
    24. The Dark Tower 3: The Waste Lands (106 votes)
    33. The Dark Tower 5: Wolves of the Calla (66 votes)
    54. The Dark Tower 6: Song of Susannah (14 votes)

    So there’s a chance for The Gunslinger and Wizard and Glass to get the first place. I, for one, voted for The Gunslinger and I think he stands a chance to represent the brilliant saga of Roland of Gilead.

    R.I.P. Ray Bradbury: The “Fahrenheit 451” author, who wrote numerous other literary classics in his day, died Wednesday at 91. ”If I had to make any statement, it would be how much I love and miss him, and I look forward to hearing everyone’s memories about him,” Danny Karapetian, Bradbury’s grandson, said to io9. Sad news. (edit: Karapetian is his grandson; apologies, fixed)

       Finally picked up a copy of of The Bloody Red Baron by Kim Newman yesterday (the second book in the Anno Dracula series). I’ve made about a quarter of the way through and I like it almost as much as I did Anno Dracula (I loved Anno Dracula, sooo). The only downside, which really isn’t a downside at all, is the fact that Charles Beauregard doesn’t have a prominent role, but I guess that’s to be expected since he’s a big(ger) shot in Diogenes Club. 

      Anyway, I definitely recommend this book and Anno    Dracula to anyone who enjoys a read.

    It would be uplifting if we could believe that adolescent human nature is capable of salvaging the pride and self-image of the low bird in the pecking order with such a gesture but we know better.
