what do you think of the new fantastic four cast?

If FOX’s goal was to make an FF movie the complete opposite of what I wanted to see, then they have succeeded. Why couldn’t the rights have reverted back to Marvel?

It’s not even the Doom gender swapping rumor that pisses me off. It’s the typical Hollywood casting, young and good looking. And the supposed plot outline seems to get who these characters are and the whole team/family dynamic completely wrong.

Ukraine’s Revolution Is Being Broadcast Live

Three months after the first anti-government protests in Ukraine, the country has experienced its deadliest day of political violence, with nine people dying in clashes between demonstrators and police. The beating heart of the pro-Europe, anti-Russia ‘Euromaidan’ movement is in Kiev’s Independence Square (in Ukrainian, Maidan Nezalezhnosti), and the square is currently in flames after a day of police firing rubber bullets at protesters wielding molotov cocktails and fireworks. Earlier on Tuesday, opposition activists marched on parliament, while setting fire to government buildings and security vehicles. All this comes a day after Russia, which has urged Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to crush the protests, announced that it would be sending Ukraine $2 billion in aid as a lifeline for its tanking economy.

Now, as night falls in the capital, the independent Ukrainian station Espreso TV is broadcasting a live feed of the surreal scene in Independence Square—a feed punctuated by intermittent explosions and impassioned speeches.

The whole thing is bracing to behold.

What costs about the same as space exploration? Valentine’s Day.

According to the National Retail Federation, by the time the clock strikes midnight tonight, Americans will have spent a total of $17.3 billion celebrating Valentine’s Day. The most common ways to celebrate are with cards (51.2% of celebrators) and candy (48.7%), followed by flowers (37.3%), an evening out (37%), and jewelry (19%). 14% of gift-givers will give gift cards (some of which, presumably, don’t get used).

In Fiscal Year 2014, NASA’s full budget will be $17.6 billion. That’s equivalent to one Valentine’s Day plus an extra 25 minutes or so of bonus Valentine’s Day celebrating.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my lovely readers. Thanks for spreading the word about this site, and for your kind words of support and encouragement!
